An inline 6-cylinder delivers a harmonious, characteristic sound thanks to evenly spaced exhaust outlets. Although the S55 is a 6-cylinder, its turbo configuration makes it sound like two 3-cylinders – some would even say like a potato masher. The offset of almost 30cm between the turbo outlets unbalances the pulses and prevents the deep, guttural sound you are entitled to expect, no matter whether you fit an X-pipe, a double X-pipe or an H-pipe: nothing will help!

The solution is to equalise the length of each half-line in order to resynchronise the engine's pulses. This is the solution implemented by Active Autowerke with this characteristic sinusoidal design, while still leaving you free to choose your favourite silencer.

This new version integrates resonators to combat the drone that may persist on some versions ( the resonated / non-resonated advice still applies)

Available in resonated or Race version, connecting pipes included.
