Preparing a BMW M135i / M140i F20 F21 for the track
The N55 in the M135i and the B58 in the M140i deliver performance close to an M2 for a much smaller budget. The difference comes down to the chassis and a few reliability points to address before hitting the track.
1. Engine reliability
On the M135i (N55), the MMX oil pan baffle kit is essential: under heavy braking, oil collects at the front of the sump and the pump can lose prime. For cooling: Mosselman oil thermostat, CSF oil cooler, DO88 intercooler and DO88 charge pipes.
2. Chassis: the M2 front axle
BMW standardises its chassis: the M2 front axle kit fits the F20/F21 and transforms front-end grip. Complete it with Millway parts (toe arms, adjustable top mounts, spherical bearings), bump steer spacers and INTRAX or ST XTA Plus 3 damping.
3. Braking
Endless ME20, Pagid or Ferodo pads, Goodridge brake lines and a cooling kit.
4. Wheels and maintenance
Racing Division Pista or NÜR wheels, Motul maintenance packs suited to the N55 or B58. Any doubts? Use the configurator or get in touch.
