Preparing a BMW M3 E46 for the track

The M3 E46 and its S54 remain a benchmark for trackdays, provided its known weaknesses are addressed. The priority on a track E46 is structural: the floor around the rear subframe mounts is a well-known fatigue point on this model.

1. Structure and safety

Weld-in floor reinforcement kits, Millway reinforcement plates, an X-Brace bar, and for more committed cars a 6-point half cage and a cage-mounted fire extinguisher.

2. Chassis

Millway covers the entire running gear: adjustable top mounts, adjustable camber arms, spherical bearings, solid subframe mounts and solid control arm bushings. For damping: INTRAX, KW Clubsport 2-way or ST.

3. Braking and cooling

Pagid RSL1, RSL29, Endless ME20 or Ferodo DS2500 pads, Goodridge brake lines, cooling kit and Girodisc rotors. For cooling, DO88 offers a water radiator, an oil cooler and a power steering cooler.

4. Maintenance
