Brake Cooling Kit BMW 135i E82 E88
Whether in normal driving, spirited driving or on track, there is no need to dwell on the bicycle brakes fitted to BMWs from the factory. After a few hard stops the bite fades away, or the pedal even goes to the floor.
Fitting big brakes will push the limits, but you soon start asking yourself " how do I get brakes with endurance?" when you see pro drivers lapping for hours it seems out of reach. But looking closely at how competition brakes are designed, while discs, pads and calipers are now available to the public, the main difference comes from cooling and thermal management.
Once properly cooled, pads and discs operate at a lower temperature, greatly reducing their wear, and retain their performance lap after lap.
This complete kit is therefore the essential complement to original or aftermarket brakes. It uses the original air intakes to channel air from the bumper, through the original duct and via the wheel arches to the final backing plate.
The 135i (or other E82 E88) already has intake ducts in the front bumper, but these end in the middle of the wheel arch.
Advantages:
- Uses the original aerodynamics and ducts
- Installation with minimal effort and modification
- Air delivered to the centre of the disc
- Protects bearings and ball joints from heat
- Powder-coated aluminium hub plate
- Direct replacement for the original parts
IMPORTANT: Given the different chassis geometries and wheel and tyre combinations, it is impossible to cover every variant. In the worst case, the wheel could rub at full steering lock (which should only happen when parking). If this does happen, we advise you not to manoeuvre at full lock or to fit steering stops.
Kit contents:
- 1x front left air duct inlet
- 1x front right air duct inlet
- 8x mounting screws with washers
- 1x left anchor plate
- 1x right anchor plate
- 1x air hose
- 4x hose clamps
Mike's tip:
"After adding 60mm ducts to the big Alcon brakes on my M3 E46, I could do 35min sessions at the Bugatti circuit or at Spa, and it wasn't the car that gave up but the driver! It's sometimes complicated but it's worth it"
