Millway Rear Trailing Arm Spherical Bearings M3 E36 E46
With age, rubber bushings crack and allow the trailing arms to move during dynamic driving. This gives a feeling of instability, even under braking.
A common practice is simply replacing them with a rubber bushing combined with 2 stabilising washers; this is an improvement, but while it may meet the needs of sporty road driving, track driving will soon wear it out.
The solution is to switch to a spherical-bearing part. The solution designed and made by Millway in Sweden provides durability and geometric stability thanks to the Millway team's well-judged choices:
- Light and strong materials (clear-anodised 7075-T6 aerospace aluminium)
- Durable Motorsport-type spherical bearings
- Compatible with E36 / E46 / Z4 (M included)
- No more rubber bushings: more precision and stability
- Retaining plates
- Available in Race and Street versions (with or without boot)
Price per pair, spacers included
Team Lupos's take:
Over the years, as you get used to it, you don't realise how much the ageing of this type of component can degrade what these chassis can really offer.
While Powerflex parts are satisfactory for road use, we have seen parts from this brand destroyed in a very short time in track / drift / circuit use... so you need to go straight to this type of solution, or you will have to buy and replace the flexible parts regularly. What's more, the gain in precision is clear, and reduced flex brings more grip.
