Millway Rear Axle Spherical Bearings, Guide Arm Subframe Side BMW M3 E92 E90
With age, rubber bushes crack and allow the axle assemblies to move during dynamic driving. This gives a feeling of instability, even under braking.
A common practice is to simply replace the rubber or the arm, but this doesn't correct the compliance of the flexible part.
It's an improvement, and while it may meet the needs of sporty road driving, track driving will get the better of it fairly quickly.
the solution is to switch to a spherical bearing part. The solution designed and manufactured by Millway in Sweden provides durability and geometric stability thanks to the Millway team's well-considered choices:
-Lightweight, strong materials (clear-anodised aerospace 7075-T6 aluminium)
-Durable Motorsport-type spherical bearings
-Compatible with E90 E92 E93
-Bush eliminated: more precision and stability
-Fitted on the subframe side, guide arm (the pressed-steel one)
price for the pair,
fitting with a press or with spherical bearing installation sleeves.
Team Lupos' view:
We're often asked whether fitting spherical bearings will make the car unbearable to live with. In reality, from the E9X through to the F8x these cars are designed to run on run-flats, the worst for comfort; running normal tyres + switching to spherical bearings is equivalent in terms of ride comfort. But limiting parasitic movement by removing the rubber bushes brings a significant gain... even an essential one for running on slicks.
